The city of Lucerne, Switzerland has hosted an international music festival since 1938.  Nestled on the banks of Lake Lucerne, this picturesque Alpine town was founded in the 12th Century and still retains much of its Old World charm.  The San Francisco Symphony performed 2 concerts in the KKL main concert hall as part of the 2015 Lucerne Festival on September 9 and 11.

On the day in between the orchestral concerts, I was delighted to perform 2 pieces with SFS colleagues in the Chamber Music Hall; Beethoven Trio for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano; and Haydn String Quartet, “The Joke”.

On September 4, 2014 I was honored to be a presenter at the Institute for Mindfulness in South Africa conference, “Mindfulness Matters” in Stellenbosch, South Africa.  My husband, neuroscientist Clifford Saron, gave a keynote address about his research on meditation, and we also presented our workshop, “Tuning Your Instrument; the Buddha, the Brain and Bach.”
